Just heard on the radio that they (NSW) are also giving us a further
20gigalitres on top of the 148. Maybe we'll get a Penguin or two and a
few waders next season.

Subject: Floodwater to quench lakes at Murray mouth
A report in today's Sydney Morning Herald states, that following the
recent floods, agreement has been reached between NSW and SA governments
on water flows through the Darling River. NSW lakes Panamarro and
Wetherell will be allowed to fill but not Menindee. Quote "when the
lakes are full they are home to more bird species than Kakadu".
Flows of up to 148 gigalitres will also be spared for further downstream
which is expected to refresh SA's ailing Lower Lakes, keeping them
"above their survival minimum for a year"
