Martin Butterfield on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 10:46 AM said Looking at the Birdata map for the species http://www.birdata.com.au/maps.vm,not very high! There appears to be one VIC record somewhere NW of Warracknabeal. Then Birdata is wrong or is for only a restricted time period. Letter-winged Kites occurred in Victoria in the irruptions of 1966-70, 1976-77 when they were widespread, e.g. up to 95 at Werribee sewage farm (now the WTP) and 16 at Carrum Downs (now the ETP), and in 1980-81.
