Hi Sebastian

Welcome to Birding-Aus.

It certainly looks like a Pacific Golden Plover to me. The first
impression is of a rather slim Pluvialis (Grey and All Golden Plovers)
with very long legs and a
rather long narrow bill. Grey Plovers are much stockier, thicker set
birds with a larger head, thicker neck and significantly heavier bills.
I think the very bright sunlight is perhaps a bit distracting -
it is probably making the bird appear a lot paler/greyer than it really is.
The well defined dark spot behind the ear is also a better feature for
Pacific Golden Plover rather than Grey Plover. The rear end also looks a little
too attenuated for a Grey Plover but their primaries do also project
substantially beyond the tail tip.

Cheers Dan
