This is not new at all. Many years ago Alan McBride started the
Sydney Twichers Club which met at a pub called the Duck & Swan in
Chippendale in Sydney. One meeting all the stars of Queensland birding
arrived and during the introductions a girl opened a sheet of paper
and ticked my name off her list. She ticked us all off eventually.
I remember Greg Roberts and Chris Corben and some of the others. They
were on the way to a Wollongong pelagic I think.
There were no discount flights in those days and old Holdens seemed all that was needed to hit the big 600. Salad days Trevor Quested Bundaberg Qld.
