On the morning of the 7th at about 8.45am about 50 Swifts circled the near by tree tops and were circling low over the house. The twitterings could be hear and when they turned quickly the tail flair could be seen. After about 20 minutes they vanished to the North of the town. The morning was very warm with high humidity, full cloud cover and no wind. Things one sees when bringing it the garbage bins! Alstonville is a village just west of Ballina on the north coast of NSW.
