Just a couple of place-name corrections to Chris' post. The reference to
"Aitken's Dam" should of course read Atkinson's Dam. Signage in the Lockyer
is notoriously very poor, but the lagoon on which the Hoary-headed Grebes
were found was Banool Road - turning right off Jimba Road at Seven Mile
Lagoon, with Haslingdon Road going left.
Also at Seven Mile were two magnificent Black-necked Storks and 100+ Glossy
Ibis. By the way, I would be interested to know what the status of Seven
Mile is these days in terms of access. It's a lagoon I once freely walked
around (from the now-closed toilet block) and always would turn up good
birds. We restricted ourselves to the roadside.
