Hi all,

Today Andrew Stafford and I went to check out the Pectoral Sandpiper at
Jahnke's Lagoon in the Lockyer Valley, near Brisbane, and do some extra
birding besides. I'll post a wildiaries report soon with some images
attached, but I wanted to mention some highlights for those heading out that
way.

Lake Dyer: Plum-headed Finch (~20), Red-backed Button-Quail (4, 3 male, 1
female)
Lake Galletly: Lewin's Rail (1), Little Grassbird (1), Blue-billed Duck (4)
Jahnke's Lagoon: Pectoral Sandpiper (1) at the end nearest the highway, on
the close bank.
Aitkin's Dam: Ground Cuckoo-Shrike along one of the back roads nearby.
Pakleppa Esplanade (near Boyce's Road, south of Aitkin's Dam): Hoary-headed
Grebe (6) on the water to the north of the road.

and at Lake Samsonvale at Gold Scrub Road, 2 King Quail and 2 Brown Quail,
and a calling Little Bronze-Cuckoo.

With heard records, my total list for the day was 149 species.

Regards,
Chris
