Asian Dowitcher and 2 Broad-billed Sandpipers at the Esplanade Dec 27,
and some Townsville birders reported 2 Long=toed Stint the day before,
with no sign next day (of course- it's like a curse here, the exotic
rarities get seen or claimed by visitors and none of the locals get to
see them.....)
There is a Red-footed Booby at Michaelmas Cay too.The newly opened Cattana wetlands near Smithfield north of Cairns looks promising, we saw a few Green Pygmy Geese, Magpie Goose, Little Bronze-Cuckoo and heard Channel-billed, also Pacific Baza and nesting Shining Flycatcher. Good birding for 2010 Phil Gregory www.cassowary-house.com.au =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
