Hi Martin We had a local twitchathon on Oct 31 in the SE of SA and one of the birds we noted in good numbers were floating Short-tails, didn't see a single dead one but there were many sitting on the water, one close in I was able to approach very closely and it managed a peck but that seemed to be the extent of its energy. On a second note I noticed someone had rescued an Arctic Jaeger, we also had one at Stony Point SE of SA on Oct 31.
