Thanks to all who have got in touch saying they enjoyed my Twitter updates
during last week's Vic Twitchathon. To be honest I wasn't convinced of the
value of Twitter (it seems rather an egotistical indulgence on the part of
the Tweeter but they may be partly because I was doing it by SMS and didn't
have the opportunity to interact with others as I could send but not
receive) but thought that the Thon was the perfect vehicle to try it out.

I was going to leave it at the Twitchathon but I am still getting people
signing up as followers so I thought I might keep the tweets going for the
upcoming weekend which is of course, the Australian Birdfair at Leeton. For
those who haven't been there, maybe my Twitter updates will give a feel for
what is usually a terrific birding event. Again, I may not have access to
view Twitter and can only send messages (my phone isn't really set up to
access Internet without costing an absolute bomb) but people may be
interested. To follow go to http://twitter.com/Twitchathon where you can
simply view the page or if you are on Twitter you can start following.

And of course if you don't want any part of this indulgence, then you don't
have to look!

PS. Congratulations to the 7 Year Twitchers for such an awesome winning
total, and to all the teams. With so many competing this year, the money
raised for bird study projects should be the highest it has ever been
