Hello,

Hope some of you will be kind enough to offer me some birding tips and
locations for my first visit to Australia.
Only two and a bit weeks :-

Week 1 Adelaide - Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road
Week 2 Byron Bay

First I will be driving from Adelaide to Melbourne via Halls Gap, Port Ferry,
Port Campbell and Apollo Bay.
I would like to try and see Little Penguin - I am not going to have time to go
to Phillip Island so was wondering if its possible to see them else where maybe
around Warrnambool? If so are they easy to see? What time of day is best am /
pm?

Any other general good birding spots info along the way or particular species
to look out for would be gratefully received.

I then have a week up around Brisbane - Byron Bay. Main interest here are the
waders / shore birds (as our American friends call them).
Are there particular beaches to find them? Again any other good birding spots
will be of interest.

Many thanks in anticipation of your kind help.

Tim
