Hi David, I agree with you that it is very important to know the whereabouts and status of threatened species ect. but surely that dose not mean you have to broadcast the coordinates to every man and his dog.A much better result can be arrived at by educating the observers/birdwatchers to report such sightings directly to the relevant organization. This will at least minimize any threats that may occur from unscrupulous people.
