Further to the Greater Sand Plover which turned up last week a solitary Red-necked Stint was there this morning. For those who missed previous postings Finke is south of Alice Springs on the edge of the Simpson Desert and is almost exactly in the Geographic Centre of Australia. The 3 ponds have nothing to recommend them to waders being simply 3 concrete 'swimming pools.'
