Dear all

I took some learner bird watchers to Copeland State Conservarton Area a week ago - Thursday 17 September, and was delighted to have great close views of a pair of Spectacled Monarchs. That was the best sighting. Otherwise, we had a brief view of a Grey Goshawk, a longer view of a Brown Goshawk, and heard Wompoo and Wonga Pigeons, 4 Top-knot Pigeons flew overhead, Fantail and Shining Bronze-Cuckoos called, and a small Lace Monitor was sunning itself on a track at one point. Also I think I heard a Rose Robin calling but wind in trees and distance made it too hard to be sure. And the local lyrebirds didn't even make a squeak - usually I hear their click calls when not doing their mimicry.

Now we are enveloped in dust......
