I've been taking birders on these cruises since the mid-1980s. I generally
tell the operator I'm with birders, and what we'd like to see. They're
usually helpful When I start pointing out birds to my clients, others
usually join in.
Occasionally one gets a stroppy guide/driver, but usually they're fine. The
worst I've had to do is clamber overboard to free the engine from weed (not
generally recommended).
Ask for Michael Howard and mention my name. Give him a hug from me, if
you're game.
