John & Judy Blyth along with Richard Donaghy (from Tasmania) saw an unusual warbler like bird at the Bayswater Bird Sanctuary (aka Eric Singleton Reserve) this morning.

They think it is like a Sylvia type warbler. It has a black cap. It was like a Blackcap or an Orphean Warbler, but they didn't think they were quite right.

From the car park at the end of King William Street, walk down the path to the right of the main reserve. It was seen in a flowering Flooded Gum about 50 metres right of the path. They looked at it through a scope for a short period.

If people are interested in more information, then you can call John on 9381 6293. If you do have a look, then please send an update to these birding lists. I will probably have a look on Monday, as I have a walk in Kings Park tomorrow and the pelagic trip on Sunday.
