A 730am visit to Centennial Park yesterday morning produced some nice winter 
birds including the following:
- Royal Spoonbill
- Black-shouldered Kite
- Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo - a loose flock of 23 and another group of 7 - 
good inner city numbers again this winter
- Long-billed Corella - 60+
- Tree and Fairy Martin – both in small numbers at Kensington and Willow Ponds
- Brown Quail – 2 on the busy path and adjoining lawns between Kensington Ponds 
and Allison Road metres from 6+ lanes of peak hour traffic
- Black Cormorant nesting, Pied, Little Black and Little Pied around last 
season’s nests
- Grey Fantail – 2 at McKay Fields
- Black Swan – 3 pairs with downy cygnets
- Spotted Pardalote – pair at Kensington Ponds
- moderate numbers of Hardhead c 120+ altogether, no other duck species except 
Black
