Andrew states: " Incidently a 4% reduction in US bird strikes would be worth about A$30 million per annum." True, but my point is that culling of 4% of the resident population Canada Geese is unlikely to result in a 4% reduction in bird strikes. Resident Canada Geese are likely to be somewhat habituated and perhaps more knowledgeable about how to avoid aircraft in the region than migratory birds on passage, or new birds that come into the region from other areas to fill niches left vacant by culled birds.
