Hi Russ
Re Torquay, there are two spots quite close that are worth visiting. Both
are just a few kms West of Torquay. Locals can direct you.
Ironbark Basin on the Pt Addis road - great bushland area.
Pt Addis Lighthouse - excellent change for Rufous Bristlebird

I will be in the greater Melbourne area from June 18th to June 23rd. I was
hoping to make an inland journey to either the Deniliquin area or Grampians
NP. My question is which of these sites is more distinctly different from
the greater Melbourne area in terms of bird diversity (i.e. which site
should I visit?)?
My second question is since I'm staying in Torquay for the first 3 nights, I
thought I'd bird Lake Connewarre SWR and specifically look for
Orange-bellied Parrots. Any tips as to what areas of this reserve I should
concentrate my search?
I realize this list gets its fair share of RFIs and I appreciate any
information folks are willing to share.
Sincerely,
Russ Namitz
