Another slant on recognition of humans by birds. O'Reilly's Guest House, in Lamington N. P. 50 plus years ago. Bernard O'Reilly (he of the Stinson wreck fame) feeding birds at the Guest House for the delectation of guests. Highly desirable were Regent Bowerbirds, Satin bowerbirds, and Crimson Rosellas. Undesirable, (in Bernard's opinion) were the bullying, greedy currawongs. Currawongs appear and Bernard would go toward them, waving his arms, and shouting "Go on Currawongs. Get away. Get out of it." Currawongs would take off and decamp. Regent Bowerbirds remained quite undisturbed.
