Hi all
there was a pair of Caspian Terns at Long Reef today, seen flying off the reef towards Dee Why approx midday. There were quite a few small Dotterels on the reef flat (presume Double Banded) and some smaller terns loafing in with the Cresteds - possibly White Fronted? (I was with a group enjoying a bracing walk before lunch, so didn't have my scope and we didn't go down to reef level allowing for closer inspection.) Plenty of Australian Gannets in various stages of plumage offshore, but again time didn't allow a sustained check for albatross.
Also 1st kestrel I've seen for a while up there
Cheers
Tom Wilson
