I struck at least six Fan-tailed Cuckoos all doing the alternative call around a clearing at Cann River ( Gippsland, Vic) in the rainforest at the back of the caravan park. This would have been January in about 1995 or 96. Probably moved on by now . -----Original Message----- From: On Behalf Of Jackett family Sent: Sunday, April 26, 2009 12:17 PM To: Barry Davies; Subject: A Convention of Cuckoos Hi Barry, While at the top of Gunlom Falls (Kakadu) on the 10th of July last year, I was quite sure I watched a small flock of four Black-eared Cuckoos fly overhead. Not quite as unusual as ten? The flight was swift and the very black eye line was distinct. They flew quite low across the cliff line. Carla Jackett Kangaroo Valley NSW |
