I don't believe there is any krill harvesting permitted at present in
Australia. Seabirds do occasionally go through periods of mass mortality and
this could be part of a normal process. I think it's a bit hasty to be pointing
the blame squarely at the fishing industry. We do need to be mindful however,
that events like this, if they become more frequent, could be signs of more
macro-environmental change in the ocean due to climate change and other factors.
