Hi Dean An amazing coincidence ! You may have seen a recent thread on Birding-Aus about Cuckoos with unusual calls. And yesterday I had this phone call saying another Stygian Owl (presumably a different bird) had also be seen in Lipraloof. The final analysis is not yet in but it seems likely that there is a rare sub-species associated with Christmas Trees with a distribution map which must now be extended to Lake Erie. Best wishes Michael Norris 37° 59' S 145° 0' E |
