Agree that BBS is a globally near threatened bird. It is not common even in its 
usual range in North and South America. Whereas American Golden Plover is more 
numerous and hence the chances of it turning up in Australia should be 
relatively higher.

In this case, this Golden Plover that has many features of AGP is also 
"overlooked". The 'over' as in the 'over' in overdo, overreact, overestimate, 
etc.

There were 12 typical PGPs plus this strange GP last Sunday(8March). Most of 
other PGPs have already gained partial breeding plumage but this strange bird 
is still lagging behind. So the chance of seeing it gaining significant 
breeding plumage before departure is very very low.
