Hi allit has been pointed out to me that the bird I thought was an immature Osprey in my report from a visit to Long Reef yesterday (extract below) may have been a female with worn plumage - a possibility that I am quite happy to entertain as I have learnt some things to look for next time. I assumed the bird was from the pair (or family) that have nested at Narrabeen Lakes in previous years, so does anybody know if the birds nested successfully this year and fledged any young? A quick look into the archives revealed reports of nesting activity for 2007 but none for 2008. Cheers Tom Wilson : - immature Osprey over the rock shelf - I assume a young bird from the Narrabeen Lakes nest? =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
