I've seen Quail-thrush on the ridge to the north of Gold Creek Reservoir. If you park at the top of Hillbrook Rd and go west along the dirt road you go under high-voltage power lines after about 1km. It was somewhere there. I've run through there a couple of times in recent years when visiting Brisbane but seen them only once. You can continue on down to the reservoir, down Gold Creek Rd and up Hillbrook if you want to do a circuit. Loads of birds when I've run it at dawn, but a bit of ascent/descent. Andrew |
