Last thing I heard was that the lessee of Mt Arden Station ( north of Pt
Augusta where the Ostriches are), John Williams or Williamson, has
stopped allowing people to go on the property because he just got fed up
with the unending stream of birders asking for permission.

Hi Michael,
Whilst researching another matter, I came across your enquiry on
Birding-Aus regarding Ostriches on Eyre Peninsula in SA and I can fill
in some of the details for you.
During the late 1800's Ostriches were farmed at Emeroo Station a few
kilometres outside of Port Augusta. The following link will fill in the
details for you
http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/heritage/pdfs/showcasing/emeroo_ostrich
_farm.pdf.
In addition a Google search for "Ostrich Farm Port Augusta" will yield
further information for you.
Regards
Barry Price
Port Augusta SA
