Hi all a great start to my birding year with a pair of Grey Goshawks circling over my house (nr Boomerang/Pentecost junction) approx 10:30am this morning (2 Jan). They were being mobbed in flight by approx 40 very loud Sulphur Crested Cockatoos that were circling above and slightly behind them. One Goshawk was performing an odd manoeuvre by closing its wings (or taking a very strong flap?) and trying to glide up into the pursuing cockies - presumably to put them off. Happy New Year and good birds for 2009 to everybody and thanks to all who responded to questions etc last year. Cheers Tom Wilson ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
