Hi allstopped off in the Sydney Botanic Hardens for lunch today en route to the station after viewing the Monet exhibition at the Art Gallery. 2 quiet surprising sightings: - 1 Channel Billed Cuckoo sitting in a big tree near the cafe approx 1:45 pm - took off towards Mrs Macquarie's chair with the usual cacophony. - 1 Great Egret came flying in from the north (across Farm Cove) at about 2pm - looked like it was heading for the ponds by the cafe but I lost sight of it. Both quite interesting birds within 500 metres of the Sydney CBD.
