I am planning 6 days five nights in Melb and east with my partner (she's
non-birding and if not anti then prone to resentful. ie little chance of a trip
to a sewerage farm or mudflat *sigh*). It'll consist of 3 days in Melb and a
day heading to Lakes Entrance then a day heading to Beechworth and a day
heading back to Melb for a 9pm flight. This is planned for early - mid Feb. I
am from Brisbane and spend a lot of time in Central Queensland but my south
east list is pretty empty. Off the top of my head Gang Gang Cockatoo, Yellow
Tufted HE, Eastern Rosella, Musk Lorikeet, Red Rumped Parrot and Blackbird
completes my southern species list (not even Fairy Penguins but I have slipped
them into the itinerary) so I'll be happy to pick up any low hanging fruit as
we charge about the countryside going to wineries, shops and galleries. Any
suggestions for how to maximise my birding around this would be gratefully
recieved.
Cheers Tony
