Hi DonI guess you are coming by plane to Tullamarine? If so, have a look around the gums in the car park over the road(s) from the front of the terminal for PCLs. They nest at the nearby Woodlands Historic Park (previously Gellibrand Hill Park) which has a lot of old River Red Gums (their favourite?) and Grey Box and, if they call, it is a 4-5 km walk to get in to the natural areas of the park (wish they had a nearby entrance so it would be only 2km). A map of the park is at http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources05/05_0490.pdf Google maps gives good views of its location. From memory the best areas to look are the more open woodland from thehistoric homestead to the Back Paddock, as far as the creek. But I've also seen PCLs often towards the Somerton Rd Picnic Area.
