Hi there
Last week I booked some cheap flights (Melb/Cairns) for Feb.
I have never birded in FNQ, in fact I have never visited Cairns
so would be grateful for some honest advice.
Is Feb a really bad time to go? I have heard from some
non-birding folks that access to different places might
be difficult due to flooding/wet season and so on. I am now
wondering if I should postpone/change dates? We would go
for a week and haven't begun to make any arrangements.
Obviously we would like to make the most of wildlife sightings
and photo opportunities.Could some FNQ folks or even visitors
to the area please give me some general advice? As to places worth
seeing/accessible and whether a 4wd is needed etc. Even sample
itineraries would be helpful. Thankyou in advance.
