Thanks Bob.
To give this a bit of plug (and to make up for past errors of judgement
and poor use of words), this looks excellent. Ethnoornithology is
certainly an interesting and expanding field and well worth examnation -
particularly on groups such as birding-aus that deals a lot in with
birds and cultural knowledge. (For example I've just signed Dave Torr's
online appeal to halt Victorian shooting at
http://www.saveourwaterbirds.org/.)
I should point out that Birds Australia has a Ethno-ornithology interest
group. For further information see
http://www.birdsaustralia.com.au/the-organisation/ethno-ornithology.html
. Bob is the convenor and the groups contact details are on this site.
Cheers,
Tim Dolby
