This article about the foraging behaviour of the Tyrant Flycatchers of
the New World distinguishes aerial hawking from aerial foraging
(bottom of page 2) and prefers the term 'screening' for the latter.
The author is following an earlier article by Emlen, which I can't
find online.
I can't see where this meaning for 'screening' comes from, and the
verb has lots of other meanings which are not connected to this
meaning, so it seems a poor choice.
