Yes, very disturbing. There has been some comment amongst local naturalists
about fewer numbers of insects visiting lights in recent summers around
Brisbane.
On a similar note, researchers overseas are finding that amphibian declines
are actually impacting on the environment. Falling stream-dwelling frog
numbers means fewer tadpoles resulting in algae are increasing in streams.
