Dear Akos,
Mason Park is a good place for a number of species of waders, providing
roosting and feeding habitat. However bear in mind that at low tide there
are a lot of other sites exposed by the low tide, such as Hen and Chicken
Bay. The best time to photograph birds at Mason Park is therefore at high
tide when the birds have few alternatives.
Don’t have time to go into details now. Hope this helps.

Phil

The waders at Mason Park often feed in the 2 drainage channels next to the
wetland when the tide is out, which meet to make the mangrove lined channel
of Powells Creek, which flows into Homebush Bay. Of course, some of the
waders may disperse elsewhere as well. However, at low tide I have also
seen waders loafing at the wetland itself, so in my experience they don't
all disperse.
Cheers
