A couple of weeks ago I wrote the bit below. Heard the same call today and
it was a Spotted Pardalote.
Does my description fit a young bird? A bird (which I could not locate) was giving a mournful beep-beep, apparently from the top of a gum tree but it may have been ventriloqual andlower down. It was rather like a slightly higher-pitched and curtailed Little Grassbird call.
