Just back from a PNG trip, and home at Cassowary House, Kuranda Sue
calls me to come hear a strange noise- it's a low double hoot, clearly
a Rufous Owl, and not too far back- I get the spotlight, scan from
the veranda and pick it up sat quite high in big black wattle tree.
It's our first for the immediate area and a great garden tick, one of
the great joys of birding is the unexpected! A life bird for Sue
too.....
