Here is exactly where I saw the chats yesterday: http://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=-33.912354,151.183038&spn=0.003134,0.004469&t=h&z=18&msid=117278540538253656485.000458ecd1e99f4477d7e Easy to find because there were 2 birdwatchers and a photographer present. Just a quick visit to the park with my kids. A Little Grassbird was calling - I've heard them there previously when I've run through the park previously. Seemed to be some interesting grebe behaviour going on. Earlier in the week there was a blackbird calling in Annandale next to the City-West Link. I think I've heard there before, but its not a species I see close to the CBD - perhaps I'm just missing them as there seems to be apparently suitable habitat. There are old records for the Botanic gardens and this was the site of an unsuccessful? release. Do they still occur in the Botanic Gardens or nearby? Andrew |
