Billa personal EPIRB is now called a personal locator beacon as opposed to one you would take to sea. They are approx $500 and they are having their frequency changed so that you can be located in a life and death emergency more quickly and more accurately than you could have been on the old frequency. Any personal locator beacon you buy now will be on the new frequency. The old models will cease to operate at the end of this year which means I have to get another one. I would never go remote without one. Gary |
