About two weeks ago a member of WIRES brought me a Painted Button Quail which was picked up in Caringbah and taken to a vet. The bird had a >3 week old fracture of the tarsus and a more recent fracture in a small carpal bone but otherwise a good weight >82g and healthy condition. It was also found on a suburban street and was an adult. Needless to say there was very little Quail habitat where it was found.
