Couldn't agree more Alistair!
If people reply to the list then the information is there for
everyone to share into the future via the archives.
I'm not really sure why alot of people seem to only want personal
replies to questions posted to a group that exists and thrives due to
the open sharing of information. Isn't that what Birding-Aus is all
about?
I save emails all the time about locations that i think i might get
to one day or even locations i am about to visit.
I actually have folders saved in "Mail" (Apple email program) for
each state in Australia with sub-folders of regions.
Not to mention the folders about bird ID tips for various groups of
birds!! (call me a nerd if you will :) )

No offence, but if you're going to put up RFIs I think it's a good
idea for
people to post their responses to the list unless there is a good
reason not
to, so that everyone benefits from the shared knowledge.
Evan Beaver can probably help you out with both birding and
climbing tips.

Dear all,
I am heading to Mt Arapiles St park (Vic) this weekend for a
climbing/birding trip. Has anyone visited the park recently? Did
you see
any interesting birds? Please reply off-list.
Thanks!
Bert Harris, Adelaide
