Hi All,

We've just spent a fortnight travelling from Darwin through Kakadu to Kununurra 
and up to the Mitchell Plateau. It was a wonderful trip with so many diverse 
habitats and great birds,159 species in all.  Following are some highlights:
Darwin
Little Ringed Plover at the sewage ponds [thanks Sheryl and Arthur]
Chestnut Rail - a pair feeding in the open opposite the boat ramp at Buffalo 
Creek. Also at this lively spot, Striated Heron [rufous form],Common Sandpiper, 
Azure and Sacred Kingfishers, Grey Whistler, Shining Flycatcher, Mangrove 
Gerygone, Sea Eagle, Red-Headed HE.
Grey Goshawk- beside a nest in Tiwi.
Rose-crowned Fruit Dove
Howard Springs
Rainbow Pitta
Mary River Excavation Pits
Varied Lorikeets
Bardedjilidji Sandstone Walk
Chestnut-quilled Rock Pigeons
Gunlom
Black-breasted Buzzard, White-lined HE, Chestnut-quilled Rock Pigeon
Ranger station south Kakadu
Silver-backed Butcher Birds [were there this time last year too] , Pacific Baza
Copperfield Dam
Partridge Pigeons
Edith Falls Road
Gouldian Finches, Hooded Parrots , Banded HE, Masked Finches, Long-tailed 
Finches, Crimson Finches, Double-barred Finches
Victoria Highway
Black-tailed Treecreeper, Yellow-tinted HE
Victoria River
Purple-crowned Fairy Wren, White-quilled Rock Pigeon, Pictorella Mannikins, 
Chestnut-breasted Mannikins
Timber Creek
Star Finches, Buff-sided Robin, Yellow-rumped Mannikins
Buchanan Highway
Budgies, Cockatiels, Jabiru, Gouldian Finches, Pictorella Mannikins, Spinifex 
Pigeons, Little Woodswallow, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo
Keep River NP
Bustards, Brolgas, Brown Goshawk
Lake Argyle
Yellow Chats, Sandstone Shrike Thrush, Northern Rosella, Red-winged Parrot, 
Great Bowerbirds [by the dozen] Spinifex Pigeons
Kununurra
Jacanas,  Star, Crimson and Chestnut-breasted finches, Spotted Harrier
Wyndham
Square-tailed Kite, Gouldian Finch, Bar-breasted HE, White-quilled Rock Pigeon, 
Rufous-throated HE, Blue-winged Kookaburra, Ausralian Pratincole
Mitchell Plateau
Black Grasswren, White-quilled Rock Pigeon
