Graham,
Adavantages of a facebook group include those I listed in my previous email
"It would be an easier way to post links, videos and pictures without having
to go through other sites like photo bucket.com. At the same time, I believe
it would bring the already friendly, personal Birding-aus to an even
friendlier level, to a level were listers can get to know one another a
little better just like members of a club."
Currently, to post an image or video on the BA list, you must log into a
seperate website and attatch your pictures throught that, then make sure it
is of the right size etc before you can paste a link to it on a Birding-aus
bound email. With a facebook group, videos and photos can be attatched
directly onto the page.
The benefits aren't endless, so I'm not going to lie or try and over glorify
facebook, I don't even work for them! I am simply putting forward an idea.
If a group like this was set up on facebook it would be entirely up to the
individual what they post on it, when and where they access it, how long
they look at it let alone whether they even join. I understand many
workplaces frown upon access to such social networking sites on their
computers, and I'm definately not forcing anyone to do so.
Regards,
Kurtis
