While writing my previous response about Thomas & Thomas I got to thinking
about a project that I recall reading about a few years ago, but don't remember
hearing if anything happened with it. It is all bit vague - can't remember if
it was Birds Australia or possibly even Australian Geographic (or someone else)
proposing it. The idea was for people to send details of their favourite
birding sites, and it was then going to be compiled in some sort of book that
would be then sold. Seemed to me that it was a bit like trying to write a
Thomas & Thomas style bird finder by tapping into the resources of the local
birders (or maybe I am just being cynical).
Anyway, if anyone knows anything about this project or where it went I would be
interested to hear what happened with it.
Cheers,
Peter
