Many people seem to recommend having a copy of Pizzey and Knight for
reference, but have one of the smaller ones - Slater and Slater or the
compact version of Morcombe - to carry around.

I'm sure I've seen a better, more critical review somewhere, but can't
find it now.
It's probably amusing some people that Subaru Foresters and finding
birds are mentioned in the same posting. It often seems like you only
need to find where the Foresters are in order to find the birds, as
they're very popular among birders.
