>From the ABC news website Protection boost for western whipbird and other Mallee species (Environment SA) Efforts to protect threatened bird species have been boosted, with a new wilderness protection area declared in the Murraylands, in the east of South Australia. It covers 60,000 hectares of scrubland and sand dunes in Billiatt Conservation Park, 30 kilometres north of Lameroo. It is the fifth protection area to be declared in South Australia since 1992. The park's threatened birds include the western whipbird, mallee fowl and the red-lored whistler. =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
