Sarus cranes Cairns area

Hi birders,

I will be spending a couple of days in Cairns next month, and would like to 
catch up with this species. My previous visits to the area have always been out 
of season.

I know they breed and roost at Bromfield crater, but do they visit Mareeba, or 
is there anywhere closer to Cairns where I could find them?
