A 5 second recording of a fully identified bird giving two trills is now
posted on the BOCA web site. This call can be downloaded either as a
mono file or in higher definition as a 2 track version. The first trill
is given just before the bird flies off, still in full view, whilst the
next one is a few seconds later with the Tattler out of sight.
The call has been edited but the background has not been edited to
exclude the natural effects of a rocky foreshore. I have another edit
which gives a sharper call but a loss of realism creeps in. It all goes
to emphasize the difficulty of recording in the wild.
Graham Turner who made the original recording has generously donated it
to BOCA completely unencumbered and allowed BOCA to use as they see fit.
We are intend indebted, thank you Graham.
